Editors
Cynthia Ann Fleck is a board certified wound specialist and dermatology advanced practice nurse who has presented over 500 seminars and programs throughout the world. She has written 250 articles and chapters for various peer reviewed and clinical publications and texts and authors the "Frequently Asked Question" column in Advances in Skin and Wound Care. In addition, she writes for numerous industry publications and journals as well as serving on several editorial advisory boards. She serves as the Past President and Chairman of the Board of the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM), Past Director of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC), Co-Chair of PRESENT WOC, Co-Chair of the Desert Foot Conference, Diplomat of the American Professional Wound Care Association where she serves on the Medical Advisory Board, PRESENT Diabetes and Mount Sinai School of Medicine Advisory Board Member, Board Member of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists and is President of Cynthia Fleck & Associates, LLC, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dot has been a registered nurse for 36 years, and has spent 32 of those years dedicated to the practice of ostomy and wound care. She received her nursing degree in 1976, and in 1980 received her Enterostomal Therapy (now Wound, Ostomy and Continence) training from Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. Dot has maintained her board certification in ostomy and wound care through the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (CWON), and completed her board certification from the American Board of Wound Management (CWS) in 2004. She has had an exciting and blessed career allowing her to practice in virtually all care settings including acute, home, and long-term care. She also spent 7 years in industry working in medical supply, as well as clinical support for Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals. In 2001 she began practicing in the outpatient area, and is currently practicing at The Wound Healing Center of Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, Florida. In addition, she has authored or co-authored multiple articles and book chapters related to wound management, and is a frequent speaker on all aspects of wound management at national and international conferences. She is the co-editor for Today's Wound Clinic, is Co-Chair and faculty for the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, and is on the the multidisciplinary faculty for The Wound Certification Prep Course. She is also on the advisory boards and speaker's bureau for several manufacturing organizations. Dot is a member of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, The Florida Association of Enterostomal Therapists, The American Board of Wound Management, The Wound Healing Society, The College of Certified Wound Specialists, and was a founding board member and held the office of Treasurer and President of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care.
Diane Hanna, MSN, ARPN-C, is a Nurse Practitioner with vast dermatology experience, having been in the specialty since 1997. She graduated from University of Kansas with a Bachelors, earned her Masters and this May 2010 will complete her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She enjoys the art of research and writing. Her areas of research concentration are Atopic Dermatitis and Cosmetics. She is excited and honored to be a part of PRESENT Dermatology Clinician, which she believes is filling a niche that is desperately needed for Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Physicians working in dermatology practices.
