She begins by discussing the innervation of the lower extremity, and then describes the regional blockade techniques of these nerves including femoral, saphenous, popliteal, and ankle blocks. The importance of a multimodal approach to post operative pain control is also described.

This lecture by Dr, Warren Joseph, DPM, FIDSA explains how most physicians have been taught that "osteomyelitis is a surgical disease" and that the "gold standard" of treatment is the use of 4-6 weeks of intravenous antibiotics following aggressive surgical debridement. Surprisingly, there is little to no human evidence to support either of these treatment options.
