Onychomycosis as an Infection |

Onychomycosis presents in ones office multiple times daily, however, it is rarely being treated since mechanical debridement is not considered a treatment of this fungal infection. Dr. Joseph discusses the importance of onychomycosis therapy and the various therapies, especially topical therapy, in this lecture. He also speaks of reinfection, diabetes affect on onychomycosis, prevalence, and genetic predisposition.

Dr. Schuberth discusses calcaneal enthesopathy in this lecture, with detail of the surgical treatments of an ostectomy or osteotomy to treat the symptomatic patient. Bursal anatomy, clinical evaluation, and radiographic evaluation are also described.

Dr. Samuel Mendicino provides a comprehensive review of chronic lateral ankle instability and its proper diagnosis and treatment. He discusses the significance and differential diagnosis of continued pain in the setting of an unstable ankle. Pertinent anatomy is reviewed and accurate interpretation of radiographs including stress views is presented. Conservative versus surgical treatment options are given. Surgical techniques, including the Brostrum and peroneal sacrificing procedures, are described in detail. Video presentations of these procedures are offered along with valuable tips and pearls.
