When a patient presents to your office with an Achilles tendon rupture, there are many ways that a physician can address this necessary operation. Dr. DiDomenico demonstrates the operative technique of augmenting the Flexor Hallucis Longus tendon to the Achilles tendon, and with his many case studies he shows the success of this procedure. Dr. DiDomenico discusses Achilles anatomy, diagnosis of an Achilles rupture, and gives a detailed account of this operative procedure in this lecture.

Hallux Varus:A Prophylactic Perspective |

Hallux varus is one potential complication of HAV surgery, as well as a condition resulting from trauma. As podiatric surgeons, we need to be able to diagnosis and correct this condition. Dr. Schuberth delivers a comprehensive treatment of the subject, including etiology, prevention, and surgical repair. Following the lecture, Dr. Marc Dolce presents an unusual case report of hallux varus following cerclage HAV surgery and the treatment options available.
