There are multiple wound care products available that are utilized in healing a wound. However, when a true biomechanical etiology is the cause of an ulceration, a surgical procedure may be the only way of accomplishing wound healing. Dr. DiDomenico addresses the need and appropriate surgical procedures in ulcers caused by the biomechanical abnormalities of digital deformities, hallux abductovalgus, hallux limitus, equinus, and acute Charcot. He also discusses the need for risk assessment of ulceration in patients who exhibit these biomechanical abnormalities
