The Surgical Dilemma of the Malunited Calcaneal Joint |

During residency, calcaneal fractures are often seen and assessed in the ER. However, as office clinicians, the acute calcaneal fracture is not seen and evaluated as often as a previous calcaneal fracture with symptomatic complications. Dr. Cohen discusses how to surgically care for the patient who is symptomatic with malalignment of the subtalar joint. Anatomy of joint depression fractures and objectives are discussed, as well as the delayed arthrodesis procedures of osteotomy with grafting, bone block distraction, and insitu.
