This presentation shall outline the unique benefits that topical wound oxygen therapy can provide for patients at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. After a review of the numerous physiologic mechanisms-of-action for oxygen in wound healing, the evidence as to the clinical benefits of topical oxygen will be explored. The different types of topical oxygen therapies available today will be reviewed and contrasted. Finally, the most recently published RCT evidence, as to the healing efficacy and long term healing durability of cyclically pressurized and humidified topical wound oxygen therapy in Diabetic Foot Ulcers, will be examined in detail. Time will be allocated to directly address questions from webinar attendees.
