Wound Bed Preparation

This presentation is an in-depth analysis on principles governing one of the most important aspects of wound care. The comprehensive construct will methodically provide the audience with up-to-date definitions, tenants, and applications of wound care. Dr Derk will then launch into wound bed preparation and its importance in todays wound care theater providing vivid before and after pictures of wounds along with videos on sharp debridement as well as literature-based evidence not only on its effectiveness, but also on cost savings. The material will also focus on Biofilm and demonstrate how sharp debridement can effectively eradicate it by providing evidence before and after with quantitative metrics achieved by advanced computer imaging. This presentation will also provide a better understanding on wound bed preparation and assist and aid the clinician with a better understanding, resources, and data for their treatment regimens and patient care.
