The 2023 Desert Foot Conference
Energizes Over 600 Participants!
The 20th Annual Desert Foot Conference, chaired by Dr Robert Frykberg and co-chaired by Drs Charles Andersen, Matthew Garoufalis, and Thomas Serena, led an esteemed faculty of over 40 key opinion leaders over four days of knowledge sharing and learning at its long-time home base in Phoenix, Arizona. The hundreds of Desert Foot attendees were exposed to evidence-based and best practices to improve limb salvage techniques, advanced wound care skills, and treat surgical and medical disorders of the lower limb. The 18 rotating interactive hands-on workshops were overflowing with attendees. The Grand Sponsor was 3M along with 91 other industry participants.
The winner of the 2023 Paul Brand Award was José Luis Lázaro-Martínez, DPM, PhD of Madrid, Spain. He is a full Time Professor at the University of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
The Desert Foot Abstract Poster Competition, which plays an important role in the Conference and allows attendees the chance to present their own work to the community, was a great success this year.

This was a fabulous event from start to end. There was a multi-disciplinary group of providers who were willing to discuss treatment options. Everyone was open and friendly to discussion.

I really enjoyed DF this year. A large part of my podiatric practice is wound care and I love staying up to date.
James Averett, DPM
Always look forward to DFC. Wide variety of topics and selection of speakers is outstanding.
Arthur Jesse Tallis, DPM
Present staff were as wonderful as they always are. I am truly grateful for the time spent with vendors and speakers, especially in the workshops and at their tables, to learn about their new products and what is coming. As a foot care nurse myself, I'm glad to see more foot care nurses presenting. I am also happy for the nursing CEs. Thank you again for a great time and so many learning opportunities.
Gloria M Escalona, DNP, RN
Best conference. Desert Foot covers every topic in wound care for any podiatry practice. This conference also has attendees from outside of podiatry. I met with a plastic surgeon who was seeing more wound care patients and came to desert foot to enhance his knowledge. Its one thing to have just lectures, but its another thing to have hands-on workshops with cutting edge technology. And in some cases, meeting with innovators who developed & brought to market these technological advances many, including myself, will use in their clinics.
Alan Rudnick, DPM
I appreciate the time and energy the staff placed in making this conference worth attending. The food and events were very good. Thank you for making this an option for me.
Carly Kriedberg, DPM
